A- One can apply through our Website icon- ‘Application Form’ or share us your Class 12 Board mark sheet and NEET pass result (for Indian Students) / HSC/ or equivalent mark sheet with your contact number written on it and our office will contact and guide you further .
Q.2. Is the MBBS degree from Mauritius recognized by the NMC in India?
A- Yes, MBBS degree from Mauritius Recognized by the NMC in India and graduates from SSR Medical College can practice in India after passing the required licensing examination (EXIT / NEXT Exam).
Q.3. Can I practice in India after completing my MBBS from Mauritius?
A- Yes, after completing your MBBS at SSR Medical College, Mauritius, you must pass the FMG Exit exam or NEXT exam for registration to practice in India.
Q.4. What are the eligibility criteria for MBBS admission in Mauritius?
A- 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology &/or English in 12th Class & NEET pass (for Indian Students).
Q.5. Is NEET required for MBBS in Mauritius?
A- Yes. As per NMC rules, NEET is compulsory; if one has to practice in India.
Q.6. What is the duration of the MBBS course in Mauritius?
A- MBBS course duration in Mauritius is 5 years followed by one year of internship in Mauritius.
Q.7. What is the medium of instruction for MBBS in Mauritius?
A- Entire MBBS Course in Mauritius is taught in English i.e. the medium of instruction is English.
Q.8. Are hostel accommodations and mess facility available on campus?
A- Yes. There are more than 300 hostel rooms (10 Blocks) and 2 Messes run by contractors (cash and carry basis) at the Campus, serving to the 'student's- like' basic needs of the students.
However, the Students can choose to stay outside the Campus. But only after a written permission from their parent's which is duly concurred / approved by the College, in the interest of the safety of the students.
Q.9. Are there separate hostels for boys and girls?
A- Yes, there are separate hostel for boys and girls at the Campus itself, 5 minutes away across the road from the College Academic Building.
Q.10. What is the total fee of studying MBBS in Mauritius?
A- Tuition Fee is US$ 8000/- per year.

Q.11. Does the MBBS degree from Mauritius allow me to apply for medical licensing exams in other countries (e.g., USMLE, PLAB etc)?
A- Yes, You can apply for USMLE (USA), PLAB (UK), or other medical licensing exams in various countries. More than 1000 of our medical graduates are practicing medicine in countries like the USA, U.K., Canada, Ireland, Germany, France, South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the UAE, Hong kong, Nepal, Sri Lanka and India etc.
Q.12. What is the Climate and Culture of Mauritius?
A- Tropical, similar to coastal India; Due to India-friendliness and 70% population being from Indian origin, Mauritius is generally called mini-India. For details check on Google.

Q.13. What type of visa is required for Mauritius?
A- You will need a student visa.
Q.14. Is visa interview required?
A- No.
Q.15. What documents are required for a student visa for Mauritius?
A- All these documents are required for a students visa as listed below:
1. Copy of passport.
2. Two Passport Sized Photos.
3. Provisional Admission letter/offer letter from SSR MEDICAL COLLEGE.
4. Visa application form.
5. Undertaking.
6. Medical certificate (HIV, Hepatitis-B & Chest X-ray report are mandatory for the visa).
7. ID proof of student and parents.
8. Bank statements for last six months.
9. Police clearance certificate.
10. NEET scorecard.
Q.16. How long does it take to get a student visa for MBBS? Is there any fee for Visa.
A- Visa processing usually takes about 45 days after all the required documents are submitted to the college. The visa is arranged by the college authority on behalf of the student directly. There is no fee for Student's Visa.
Q.17. a. Can I work while studying MBBS in Mauritius? Or b. after completing my MBBS Degree in Mauritius?
A- a. No. Moreover, medical students will have no time to work in extra time, as the medical course is quite demanding.
b. Yes. One can work in Mauritius after completing MBBS there; in Private hospitals and multinational organizations, if the employers apply/ obtain Occupational Permit/Work Permit for you.
LICENSING-RELATED QUESTIONS
Q.18. Is the MBBS degree valid for practice in India?
A- Yes.
Q.19. Can I apply for licensing exams in other countries after MBBS?
A- Yes, USMLE (for the USA), PLAB (for the UK) or licensing exams in other countries. More than 2000s of our pass out graduates are working across the Globe in most reputed hospitals of the world like Mt. Sinai, USA; King's, U.K. and the All India Institute of Medical Scieeces (AIIMS), New Delhi etc.
Q.20. Do I need to complete an internship in Mauritius to be eligible for a license in India?
A- Yes. As per NMC rules, One year internship shall be completed in Mauritius.
Q.21. Are Transfers in the MBBS or Post Graduate Courses (M.D./M.S. Courses) for horizontal entry or for Internship from other colleges accepted by the SSRMC?
A- No. Transfers from any other College are not accepted by the SSRMC.
Q.22. Is there any Scholarship?
A. No. The College being self-Financed has no provision for any scholarship. However, Students can avail educational loan, on their own, from various Banks, who have a specifically allocated provisions for educational loans at reasonable interest rates and have a committed target for the same.
Q.23. How many Indian Rupees are equal to one Mauritian Rupee?
A. One Mauritian Rupee (MRs-1) is approximately equal to Indian Rupee 1.85 (INRs.-1.85) at current exchange rate.
Q.24. How many intakes are in a year?
A. There are two intakes in a year : once in Feb./ March and again in Aug./Sept. every year for a batch of 75 each.
On-Line Application and sharing of class 12 or equivalent mark sheet and NEET pass results is open all over the year; for exchange of admission information /discussion.
Q. 25. Can the Fee be paid in local currency?
A. In view of scarcity of US$; the fees can be paid (exceptionally, to avoid disparity in fee amount) in equivalent local currency at prevailing US$ exchange rate on the date of fee payment.(Bank Proof of prevailing exchange rate to be provided by the fee payer along with the deposit receipt.)
